The month of August has come to an end which is just crazy to me. Just like every year, this one is flyyyying by. Today I will be sharing with y’all a few things that I have been loving over the past month!
Probiotics – I recently had some digestion problems that were getting on my nerves. Whenever I ate, it’s like I could feel the food kind of sitting on my chest instead of going all the way down, if you will. This does happen to me every now and then so I already knew that taking a probiotic was just the trick. My friend said that she had heard good things about the Nature’s Bounty brand so I decided to go with those! After taking the probiotic for 3 days, my problem was solved! I’ve never taken a probiotic that hasn’t worked, but this one definitely worked the fastest compared to the other brands I have tried! I would highly recommend these for women having digestion problems!
Melatonin – Since I moved, I have had trouble sleeping. I was experiencing a lot of sleepless nights and it was like my body was refusing to feel tired. Whenever I was able to actually fall asleep (around 4 AM most nights), I would constantly wake up. I never had a good, solid, deep sleep. I have always heard great things about melatonin, but I was always scared to try it out. Even though it is drug-free, I try to stay away from any types of medicine, vitamins, aids, supplements, etc. I’m not sure what it is but I try to solve all my issues naturally until it gets so bad that I can’t stand it. I hated the way my troublesome sleeping was making me feel as a whole, so I caved in and decided to give it a shot. AND I AM SO GLAD I DID!!! I don’t think I will ever not take melatonin for the rest of my life. If you are having similar problems, I would HIGHLY recommend giving melatonin a try. I honestly believe that you will not regret it.
My BrüMate – If you know me, you know that I am obsessed with leopard print. I’ve always wanted a BrüMate because let’s be honest, alcohol that isn’t even the slightest bit ice cold is absolutely dreadful to drink. However, I don’t drink very often at all, so I kept putting it off. Whenever BrüMate came out with their new Onyx Leopard collection, I caved and just HAD to go ahead and get one. It is the cutest thing ever. I’m obsessed with it already and I haven’t even used it yet!
AG Hair Care Fast Food Leave on Conditioner – I’ve used leave-in conditioner for quite a few years now. As many of you may know, I have naturally curly hair so coming across this product has worked wonders for my hair. I’ve tried a few different kinds and occasionally I come across one that works better than the last and so on. I received this AG Hair Care kind in one of my FabFitFun boxes (in which I review in full here). This is by far my favorite leave-in conditioner that I have come across thus far. It really accentuates my curls, helps lock in moisture, and keeps my hair feeling super smooth and soft. If you have curly hair that a lot of times seems untamable, I would highly recommend giving this product a try! I plan on making a post soon about all of my favorite haircare products so be on the lookout for that!
Walking Around My Neighborhood – It’s funny that I’ve put this on my list of favorites because in all honesty, I’ve only done it once. However, I plan to do it much more here coming up. I found the perfect little route for a nice leisurely stroll or even great to get some cardio in. I really like the area that I live in and it is very reassuring that I have found a place to get in some exercise where I feel safe!
Putting Fun Colors in my Hair – I have pretty much always wanted to put some “crazy” colors in my hair, but I have never been able to because of my job. I figured this quarantine time would be my chance to test it out and see if it’s something that I would actually like to do permanently. I went to Ulta one day and grabbed a few different temporary hair colors that I was interested in. The only color I’ve tried so far is purple and I loved it!! I can’t wait to try the other ones that I got! Be sure to go follow my Instagram so you can see what color(s) I do next!!
Shopping & Buying Stuff for Myself – I sort of went on a spree in the month of August. I typically don’t buy stuff for myself too much unless it is something that I actually need. I found myself in this past month actually purchasing things that I wanted – clothes, etc. Obviously, too much of this isn’t the best financially, but sometimes your soul needs it and it’s totally worth it in the end!
Going to the Nail Salon (Having my nails painted) – I got a pedicure a couple weeks ago and I am so glad I did. I was reminded how important and nice it is to treat yourself every now and then. I also painted my nails a few days before that and I really like the feel of not having boring, plain nails. I think I’m going to start going to the nail salon pretty regularly from here on out to get both a manicure and a pedicure!
Oreos – I’ve never been the biggest fan of Oreos because I don’t really like chocolate (call me crazy). For some reason, lately I have been obsessed with them! At one point, I had to eat a few cookies every night. Luckily, I am starting to get over that phase and I’m sure the scale thanks me for it!
Caviar Anti-Aging Smoothing Anti-Frizz Blowout Butter – Having curly hair means that on the rare occasion that I decide to straighten it, I have to be prepared to deal with the frizzy-ness eventually making an appearance. I received this product in a beauty bag that I got from Ulta which is what made me try it in the first place. Let me just say it worked wonders. I had almost no frizz in my hair after I straightened it and my hair was soft, shiny, and smooth! It also smells amazing so that’s a plus.
Our Brita Pitcher – Whenever we moved, we decided that we would invest in a Brita water pitcher so that we would both save money and help the environment by not buying/using bottles of water. This has to be by far one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! The water is so crisp and refreshing. I would recommend getting one to any and everybody. Save that money and save the Earth!!!
Budgeting – I started budgeting in August and I have instantly become obsessed with it. Between my car payments and my student loans, I’m in a pretty penny of debt. My cousin introduced me to The Budget Mom and I was intrigued from the get-go. I binge-watched all of her YouTube videos and immediately went and purchased the Budget by Paycheck Workbook. I am SO happy I started doing this. It has made a world of a difference for me already! I would recommend at least checking her out, no matter your financial situation. She gives great tips and advice as well!
