I cannot believe that the last time I did one of these was in 2018! That really feels like forever ago! I looked over my previous top makeup picks post and almost every single makeup item in my routine has changed. That being said, I figured it was about time to make an updated version for y’all!
Primer: BECCA Cosmetics First Light Priming Filter – I have tried primer after primer and serum after serum. I wasn’t necessarily looking for one to replace my old kind, but I wasn’t very successful in finding one that beat it. I got a sample tube of this from Ulta one day and I immediately went and got the full-size product after trying it out! This primer is very thin and has a super natural and glowy tone to it. It is such a great addition to my makeup routine. I love it!
Moisturizer: Kiehl’s Since 1851 Ultra Facial Cream – I got a sample tube of this moisturizer from Ulta one day and much like the primer, I instantly went and bought a full-size tub. This is truly the most amazing moisturizer I have ever gotten my hands on. It’s super lightweight which is a must for me and it is extremely hydrating. I cannot recommend this product enough. It is incredible!
Eyebrow Brush: THE BODY SHOP® Brow & Lash Brush & Comb
Eyebrows: I actually am going back and forth between two products for my brows. I definitely would recommend both of them! Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Define and Fill Duo – I use the shade ‘deep brown’. I only use the pencil side and not the powder side. This is a big go-to product for me!
Winky Lux Uni-Brow – I actually got this product in one of my FabFitFun boxes which I reviewed in full here. After doing more research on the product, I found that it only comes in this one shade. Supposedly, the harder you apply pressure, the darker the color will turn out and vice versa. That was super interesting to me. I did find it odd that this product matched my brow hair color perfectly. I guess it makes more since now! I love the way the pencil is shaped and I love that it has a spooly on the opposite end!
Eyeshadow Palette: Urban Decay Cosmetics Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette – I never do anything crazy with my eyeshadow. I stick to pretty much only neutral shades, such as pinks and golds. That being said, this palette is perfect for me. All of these shades are gorgeous and especially perfect for ‘going out’ makeup. There are only 2 or 3 shades that I don’t think I’d ever use.
Eyeshadow Brush: e.l.f. BLENDING BRUSH
Eyeliner: L.A. Girl Perfect Precision Eyeliner – I am almost always bouncing around between different eyeliners. There hasn’t been one that just amazes me and that I’ve been dead-set on. This is just the one that I’m currently using and it is in the shade ‘very black’. I love getting any recommendations, but if you have an eyeliner pencil that you love, please leave it for me in the comments!!
Mascara: I’m also going back and forth between two different mascaras. I definitely would recommend both of them! Lancôme Monsieur Big Volumizing Mascara in the shade ’01 Big Is The New Black’ & florence by mills Built to Lash Mascara – These are equally amazing to me. I think they are both new staples for me. I will be doing a review on the whole ‘florence by mills’ line very soon so stay tuned for that!!
Concealer: I have two concealers that I switch between! They are both great!! Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer – Unfortunately, this product has been discontinued so the one I’m on now will be the last one I’ll ever use! I use the shade ‘fair’.
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer – Because my Born This Way concealer has become discontinued, I had to find a new one. I had heard great things about the shape tape so I decided to give it a try! I really like it a lot and it is super similar to my original kind which is great! I use the shade ‘12B fair beige’.
Concealer Brush: Tarte Double Duty Beauty Paddle To Perfection Foundation Brush – I don’t wear foundation, only concealer. Basically, I put concealer over my spots and blemishes and then I use this brush to blend it all over my face! I’m very blessed with pretty great skin, so I don’t need much coverage at all! This brush is amazing, though. It’s very soft and it blends so well!
Powder: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder – I don’t use powder too much. I typically only put it on if my concealer makes my skin look shiny. I’ll then throw some powder over it to help give my face more of a matte look! However, this is the powder I’ve used from the very beginning and I would recommend it to anyone! I use the shade ‘120 CLASSIC IVORY’.
Contour: FARMASI MAKE UP CONTOUR STICK – 03 – One of my friends started selling Farmasi a little while ago and I wanted to be supportive of her and order a few things! I really wanted another cream contour because the one I had been using was powder and it just wasn’t cutting it for me. I decided to give this a try and boy am I glad I did! This product is AMAZING and I would highly recommend it!
Contour Brush: IT Brushes For ULTA Airbrush Soft Focus Blush Brush #113
Translucent Powder: ciaté LONDON EXTRAORDINARY TRANSLUCENT SETTING POWDER – I first received this in a FabFitFun box in which I reviewed in full here. I sometimes forget to use this which I regret. It really makes all the difference in shaping, cutting, and setting my contour!
Powder Brush: EcoTools Full Powder Brush – I’ve had this brush for a very long time, so the one that I have linked isn’t exact. It is basically the same brush, just a more updated version!
Cheek Highlighter: Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder – I first heard about this a few years ago when I complimented a coworker of mine on her highlighter (s/o Alexis). She told me that this is what it was and I immediately went and bought it! I love it! I use the shade ‘Bloom Time’.
T-Zone Highlighter: CoverGirl Clean Fresh Cooling Glow Stick – I got this in a beauty bag from Ulta and I wasn’t too sure about it at first. I’ve always been very dead-set on powder highlighters. After trying it out, I found that I don’t like it on my cheeks, but I LOVE it on my t-zone. The cooling feeling that it gives is kind of cool also! It’s in the shade ’400 SO GILTY’.
Highlighter Brush: This brush came in a set, so it is not sold by itself anywhere. You can get the full set of Harry Potter brushes here. I love this one SO much!
Blending Brush: I have had this brush for a very long time as well and it is no longer sold individually. I was able to find a set with a brush included that is almost exact to this one here. I use this brush to further blend out both my contour and my highlighter!
Lips: I have two lip products that I am absolutely obsessed with! I use them both separately and together! florence by mills Glow Yeah Lip Oil – I first heard about lip oils when Zoella Beauty released the ‘Splash Botanics’ range. I instantly became obsessed and lip oils have become a huge staple for me and my daily routine since then. I wanted to do a review on the florence by mills line for a blog post which is what drove me to get this product. It is incredible. I use it every day and I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
philosophy sugar sprinkles lip shine – I actually got this for Christmas from my cousin and I love it! It gives the lips the perfect amount of color, shine, and sparkle!
Setting Spray: FARMASI MAKE UP TIME LOCKER 115 ML – This was the other Farmasi item that I added to my cart when shopping with my friend! I was almost out of setting spray and I decided that I’d give this one a go! I absolutely love this! It’s the best setting spray I’ve ever used! It keeps my makeup long-lasting and looking fresh all day long!
Makeup Wipes: Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes – This is one of the main products that has stayed the same for me over the years. My skin is very sensitive to harsh chemicals, and I have never found another makeup wipe that doesn’t burn my skin besides this one. I would recommend these over and over again. They are soft to the skin and they do a great job of removing makeup!
How I Clean My Makeup Brushes: I hate to admit it, but I used to never clean my makeup brushes. Once I finally started, I just used regular hand soap and water. A year or two ago for Christmas, my mom got me a Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette that came with 2 sample packs of the Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Gel. Ever since I used it, I have made a habit out of cleaning my brushes at the beginning of every month. It works wonders!
My makeup routine has changed so much in 2 years. I still recommend all of the products in my original post, however, I have found other products that I like even better and would recommend even more!
Let me know in the comments if you use any of these products and also leave any recommendations you may have on any products for me! I love trying new items so I really like to hear what everyone else has been loving!
