Halloween Treats

Making Halloween-themed treats is always so much fun! Whether they are gruesome or cute, it’s always super fun to make and to get the reactions of others! Today I will be sharing with you the Halloween treats that I made this year!

Ghost Strawberries

You will need:

Strawberries

White Chocolate (to melt)

Mini Chocolate Chips

Wax Paper

Wash and dry the strawberries.

Lay out a piece of wax paper.

Melt the chocolate.

Dip each strawberry into the chocolate and immediately place onto the wax paper. Immediately add the chocolate chips in the shape of a ghost face.

Repeat this until all of the strawberries have been completed.

Let strawberries cool completely. To store, place in a tightly sealed container and keep in fridge. Enjoy!

Spider Cookies (from here)

You will need:

½ Cup Vegetable Shortening

½ Cup Peanut Butter

½ Cup Brown Sugar

½ Cup Granulated Sugar + ¼ Cup (for rolling)

1 Egg

2 Tbsp. Milk

1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract

1 ¾ Cup All-Purpose Flour

1 Tsp. Baking Soda

½ Tsp. Salt

Mini Reese’s Cups (unwrapped and frozen)

Candy Eyes

Chocolate Icing Pen

Preheat the oven to 375°F.

In a large bowl, mix together the shortening, peanut butter, egg, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and milk. I used my Kitchen-Aid Mixer for this!

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture in small increments. Mix until completely blended.

Form the dough into small balls – about 1 inch each.

Roll each ball into the sugar and place onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake about 11 minutes, or until golden brown.

Once the cookies come out of the oven, immediately press on a Reese’s cup upside down.

Once the Reese’s has melted a little, lightly press on the eyes.

Once the cookies have cooled completely, use the chocolate pen to draw on the legs – 4 on each side.

Enjoy!

Orange Hot Chocolate (from here)

Serves: ~5 Cups

You will need:

6 oz. White Chocolate Chips

4 Cups Milk

½ Tsp. Vanilla Extract

Neon Orange Gel Food Coloring

Place the white chocolate chips into a heatproof bowl and set aside.

Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Once bubbles start to form on the surface, add the milk to the chocolate.

Stir together until completely melted.

Add the vanilla and stir.

Add the food coloring and stir until you reach your desired color.

Serve & enjoy!

What Halloween-themed treats did you make this year? Any suggestions for me for next year?

xoxo, sav
