I’ve been wanting to make homemade dog treats since I first realized they were even a thing. One of my favorite YouTubers, Zoella, posted a pupcake recipe on her blog and I just HAD to make them! You will come to find that I use her recipes a lot. Needless to say, my dog looooved these treats. We shared with one of our doggy friends, Dude, and he loved them as well! These are sure to be a hit with any pup, big or small!
You will need:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup shredded carrots
1/3 cup peanut butter, plus extra for frosting
1 banana
1 large egg
¼ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup honey
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tubs low fat cream cheese
Cupcake liners
Dog treats of your choice (I used mini milk bones)
Preheat the oven to 338°F.
Line the tin with cupcake liners. Don’t forget to remove the paper before giving it to your pup!
Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl and distribute evenly throughout the cupcake liners.
Bake for 15 minutes and let cool completely before icing.
Use a piping bag to dollop two lines of cream cheese on the outside and one dollop of peanut butter in between. Use nozzle of choice and pipe in a circular motion. I kept a few with no icing so we could alternate back and forth.
Pop a dog treat on top and they are ready to be served to your cute doggy!
I highly recommend making these yummy pupcakes for your dog. Let me know what your pup thinks about them. Until next time!
xoxo, sav
