4th of July Treats

With July 4th being tomorrow, I decided to get in the kitchen and make some treats that are super easy and delicious! The first two recipes I have been making for a few years now and the last recipe was a new one for me! Nonetheless, they were all delicious and perfect for the occasion!

4th of July Strawberries

You will need:

Strawberries (washed and dried)

White chocolate (for melting)

Blue sugar sprinkles

Wax paper

Place sprinkles in a bowl made easy for dipping.

Melt chocolate being careful not to burn.

Once chocolate is completely melted, dip 2/3 of the strawberry into it.

Let it cool for a few seconds before dipping bottom 1/3 into the sprinkles.

Once dipped in the sprinkles, lay on wax paper to cool completely.

Put in fridge until ready to serve!

Mix in flour.

Stir in sprinkles and M&M’s.

Cover with wax paper and chill for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Bake 9-11 minutes and enjoy!

Vanilla Star-Sprinkled Cupcakes from here

Makes: 12 cupcakes

You will need (for cake):

¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)

1 cup powdered sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

2/3 cup milk

Cupcake liners

You will need (for icing):

4 cups powdered sugar

1 cup unsalted butter (softened)

½ tsp vanilla extract

You will need (for decorating):

Star mold

White chocolate (for melting)

Gold sugar sprinkles

Preheat the oven to 350°F and line the tray with cupcake liners.

In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar.

Mix in the egg and vanilla.

Fold in the flour and baking powder.

Slowly add the milk while mixing.

Spoon the batter into the liners and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Set the cupcakes to the side to cool completely.

While waiting on the cupcakes to cool, melt the white chocolate and pour into the star mold. Put mold in fridge to completely cool chocolate.

For the icing, get a clean bowl and mix all the ingredients together until completely combined.

Ice cupcakes the way you would like and decorate tops with the sprinkles and chocolate stars. Enjoy!

Let me know if you try any of these yummy recipes this holiday or just in general! You can make patriotic goodies anytime, not just for the fourth! I hope this helps those of you who are just like me and are always looking for easy, last minute recipes!
