This week I decided to explore two different smoothie recipes and a punch recipe that I felt would be great for any get-together!
Based on “Slushy Punch” from: Better Homes and Gardens Celebrating the Promise
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Freeze: overnight
Stand: 20 minutes
Makes: 6 glasses
You will need:
Plastic wrap
¾ cup unsweetened pineapple juice
½ of a medium ripe banana (peeled and cut up)
¼ cup sugar
1.5 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate (thawed)
½ tablespoon lemon juice
2/3 cup water
18 ounces Sprite (chilled)
In a blender, combine the pineapple juice, banana, sugar, thawed orange juice concentrate, and lemon juice.
Blend until smooth.
Stir in the water.
Pour into a glass baking dish and cover with plastic wrap.
Freeze overnight.
To serve, let mixture stand at room temperature for 20 minutes.
To form a slush, scrape a large spoon across the frozen mixture and spoon into a punch bowl.
Slowly pour the Sprite down the side of the bowl and stir gently to mix.
Enjoy!
